About Our Story

My Story

I started working with leather in college because I couldn’t afford the gear I wanted. I realized that sometimes the best (only) option is to make it yourself. My first project was a classic holster for my Ruger Blackhawk .357…Built with leather from the scrap bin at the local saddlery and sewn with a hole punch and leather lace, I will never get rid of that scrappy old holster…Nearly two decades later, my passion for leatherwork has led me through countless projects from chaps, to bags, to hundreds of knife sheaths. It's so rewarding to create something useful, durable, and beautiful. My designs reflect my philosophy as a practical outdoorsman, with  elements of minimalism and rugged durability;  represented by the pronghorn in my maker’s mark. The dots forming a “w” between his horns represent my family, who are always at the center of my life. The triangle framing my mark is meant to show my gratitude to God for providing it all; the earth, my family, and the gift to create something of value…to be a leather wright.
